Third Grade: We'll continue with our math lesson from last week and attempt to communicate/share our thoughts with the other school (i.e. CJ comment on VV projects and VV comment on CJ projects) | Fourth Grade: We'll continue adding any more facts into Pic Collage from the handout and begin adding audio to our slides. I would recommend having a script written out on paper or typed for them to read BEFORE tech time, reminding them to write persuasively. They are trying to get someone to visit their state! | Fifth Grade: CJ (Ray and Erin): 1. They will add page 2 in Pic Collage -they will describe setting, cite evidence from text to support it 2. They will add page 3 in Pic Collage - plot diagram using ReadWriteThink Model: VV (Jess and Donna): 1. students document in Pic Collage "clue words" that they are reading a statistic 2. students document in Pic Collage the type of bias *I'll explain these... a. CHOICE BIAS. (i.e. "3 out of 4 students like Friday.") 2. explain whether it may be: choice bias (several unpopular choices along with one favored choice. For example, choices for how to spend a Saturday afternoon might include doing really hard chores, chopping stinky onions, staring at the wall, or doing homework.) b. PRESENTATION BIAS (presents one choice very well while the others are at a disadvantage. For example, the survey might ask which ice cream is best, and then present chocolate in a dirty bowl, vanilla melted on a paper plate, strawberry with lots of salt on it, and a big scoop of butterscotch in a bright bowl.) c. SAMPLE BIAS: (selecting special types of people to respond or by asking only certain questions) | Sixth Grade: Ratio/Proportions 1. Intro Ratio Video Clip 2. We'll have them practice creating ratios. Next, we'll plan for next week as they create their own ratios to demo using the ipad camera. They'll make a plan and show how they will fix the ratios. Here is the link of how a teacher did this with chocolate milk. *I think this would be fun! Feel free to think of any ratios "mixes" you might want to bring - i.e. Kool Aid mix, ice tea, etc. I'll definitely bring things for them to use if they don't have any. |
